Musical Greetings from the Timmins Symphony

Welcome to the Timmins Symphony Orchestra’s 30th Anniversary Season. This season is packed full of exciting concerts that will entertain, enthrall and inspire!

This year we began by hosting the Toronto Symphony in Timmins. What a kick off to our celebration season. Your support for music in our community is clearly paying dividends.

Our own Main Series features a diverse and joyous collection of concerts; there is something for everybody. Highlights include the North Bay Symphony joining forces with the Timmins Symphony for a performance of Brahms Symphony No. 2 that will raise the roof on the Charles Fornier Auditorium.

In case our Main Series is not enough music for you, watch out for our season finale featuring violinist, James Ehnes. Mr. Ehnes is known around the world for his passionate interpretations and silky smooth violin technique. This is a block buster ticket anywhere in the world and we have him here to celebrate music in Timmins with you!

Thirty years of great music making is a tribute indeed to a hard working community that has insisted Symphonic music be a part of their lives and that of their children and family. This season is a tribute to our audience, volunteers and corporate and private sponsors that have kept music strong in the North.

Your Symphony has grown up a lot over these 30 years and as we enter this celebration season, the Symphony is already planning to meet the opportunities and challenges of the next 30 years of music making. There has never been a better reason to purchase your season’s ticket with the Timmins Symphony to continue to keep music strong in our community.

Sincerely Yours in Music,

Matthew Jones (Music Director)
